Wanted Writers for CrypticPunk.com No experience necessary

This blog is only around two months old and we are doing pretty well.  We averaged 8 views a day in November and we are looking to end December with an average of 200 views a day in December, which is pretty good since I mostly only post Mon-Fri and I took a few days off for Christmas.  Everything I post a post on this blog, now also publishes to Twitter, Facebook, Google +, and Tumbler. I am going to introduce some contests in January to boost readership. And I am getting involved in cross promoting this website with another websites.

So I find myself looking for others to contribute to this blog.  There is no money involved at this point. This is not a money making venture at this time. But it may be in the future.

What I am looking for is a few people to come with a weekly column. For example, I am already doing gun of the week from my collection on one day. Pick anything related to any of topics I have written about here on the site.  Guns, Gun History and Anti-gun politics always draw the most hits. Some of my posts have been Satire, and some noticed, some did not. That’s ok.

Conditions: No money but you can get credit with your name and contact info.  You can even write under a assumed name if you want.   To apply send me a sample weekly column.  I am looking for around 600 works or more. I am looking for proper grammar and spelling and the ability to tell a story or convey a thought. Pictures tell the story as well. Include pictures if you can.  Send your sample article and a brief bio to freddyramone@crypticpunk.com.  Use the Subject: Writers Wanted.

Merry Christmas to all

I will be taking a few days off for Christmas. On the 24th my son and I are flying my mother up to Maine, to visit my brother.  She is 78 years old and has never ridden in a small plane before ( 4 seat Cessna 172).  On Wednesday is the Christmas Day Festivities at several different family houses.

May you and yours have a very Happy and Safe Christmas. May Santa bring you all the firepower that you ever wanted.

And unless there is a large 2nd Amendment or Gun Story, I will see you again at the end of the week.

Christmas Story and Vintage Christmas Gun Advertisements

I already wrote about remember when toy guns where a good Christmas present. .  I have bought my son two real guns over the past two Christmases and he surprised me last year with a gun, but it wasn’t just any gun.

After all the giving of the presents was over last year, my son pulls out a package.   It is rifle shaped.  I open it and it is my father-in-law’s M1A. It was my favorite gun of his. It is the original  SpringField Armory National Match and is one of the early ones, It has a 4 digital serial number 52xx.  My son had bought it from his grandfather for $100 and was giving it to me for Christmas. (His grandfather was getting rid of his guns..He is now unfortunately in a full time care facility and can no longer shoot or even possess his guns)

My 16 year old took it upon himself to convince his grandfather to sell him the gun, paid him $100 of his own money, and then hid the rifle in the trunk of my borrowed car, and drove it home. (Luckily he was not stopped, that could have been a bad incident)

Words failed me. I was so amazed at getting this gun from my son.  Here is the gun:

It is the best gift I have ever received.

Now here are some vintage advertisements about giving a gun for Christmas

Here are some advertisements from the past suggesting that guns are a good president for Christmas. And they are a very nice for Christmas.

Updated: Remember When Toy Guns were a Great Christmas present

Here is a vintage toy gun commerical

My Family

My son is 17. When he was under 10, he would have put this gun on the top of his Christmas list.

Unfortunately now, any kid playing with this in his yard, would be shot by a rogue cop out to kill someone, because he knows he can get away with it.

I bought airsoft guns and we used to shoot them in the backyard. I spent $300 for an AK that looked like a real AK but shot plastic bullets.  He and his friends used to play in the woods behind the house. By the time my son was 11, he was shooting real guns with his Grandfather and Uncle, both are Ex Navy and Police Officers.  I run into the toy guns every now and then in the basement or garage.  Ever since, he fired a real gun, he had no interest in the toys and airsoft.

Now he has his own guns. (It’s legal in my state, for a father or grandfather to give a child under 18 guns. He can’t buy long guns until age 18 and handguns from a dealer until age 21, but he can be given guns. He is an expert marksman with pistol or rifle. He can put 30 rounds into the center ring at 200 yard without a problem.  I can barely see the target at 200 yards these days.

His grandfather gave him Enfield Jungle Carbine  and a Colt Government 1911.  I have given him a Nagant Pistol, and a German Mauser, the over the last two Christmases. This year he wanted something else instead of guns. He still likes guns, he loves the new UZI,

Kids not being allowed to Play

Now a school kid can’t even point his finger at a playmate at recess and say bang without being suspended or arrested by lunatic school administrators.

We are losing part of our heritage when kids can’t play any more. No more cowboys and Indians, because that’s racist. No more playing with guns because of “Zero Tolerance” rules. A 6th grader kisses a girls hand and is labeled a “sex offender”(Happened last week).

The real America is slowly drifting away.  I actually think we are too far gone, and our next generation is doomed.  I hope I am wrong, I really do. But just in case, I have a secure gun room filled with guns and ammo and if needed, I or my son will use it to protect our families when civilization crashes and burns.

If things turn around, then I have a great gun collection that my son can use or sell for a bunch of money.

We win either way.

Neighbors say: How dare you put up Christmas Decorations!

Note by Freddy: If I had neighbors like this, I would leave my Christmas Lights on 365 days a year. And  if the anti-Christmas neighbors are reading this. I would just like to say Merry Christmas. I hope Santa and his reindeer both take a dump on your house on Christmas eve.

NEWTON, Mass. (WHDH) — One Christmas display in Newton has pitted neighbor against neighbor.
The home glows with holiday cheer in one Newton neighborhood: Santa, snowmen, baby Jesus in a manger. For the Hunter family it’s an electric display of the Christmas spirit, but someone sent them a letter saying otherwise.

“Not everybody in the neighborhood is Christian and many people do not wish to see such a flagrant display of your beliefs,” said Kelly Hunter, received complaint.

The letter was signed only “your neighbors.” The person who wrote it complained that the trimmings are tacky.
“You are of course free worship as you believe, celebrate as you please, and free to have bad taste, but please have the good sense to do these things in the privacy of your own home. Sincerely, your neighbors.” Kelly Hunter read.

“We’re not anti-anything. We are Christian, we are celebrating our faith. People are free to do that,” said Kristen Hunter, received complaint.

“Coward, wish they could have said who it is, sign your name to it,” Kelly said.
The display started 40 years ago by the children’s grandfather.  “It really means just keeping my grandfather’s legacy alive, and I think it means a lot to the neighborhood too,” said Caleb Hunter, received complaint.  The Hunter family says they won’t let this letter put a sour note on their Christmas.

“We have so much support; people are really showing their love,” said Kristen.
The letter was postmarked from Boston, so the Hunters say they’re not entirely convinced it’s from one of their direct neighbors.

Nancy Lanza was responsible for the NewTown Shootings

Screen Shot 2013-11-29 at 5.42.49 PM

I read an article in the press today asking “Should Adam Lanza’s mother shoulder some blame?” and I have to say, yes. She is in fact responsible for all the deaths in the NewTown Shooting.

I am a parent of a child who shares some characteristics with Adam Lanza. Except for the homicidal side. So I have some experience here. Let look at some of the warning signs:

  • Adam Lanza’s fascination with violence was apparent to teachers and other acquaintances, investigators.
  • He collected materials on mass killings and kept a spreadsheet ranking of mass murders.
  • Nancy Lanza wasn’t allowed to enter his bedroom, it is unclear how much she knew about his obsession.
  • He had evaluations of many types over the years, he was home-schooled for a period because he did not like the noise at Newtown High School.
  • He refused medications and behavior therapies that were suggested for him.
  • Nancy Lanza catered to his requests, cooking to his specifications and getting rid of a cat because he did not want it in the house.
  • Adam Lanza hadn’t left the house in three months before the shooting
  • Nancy and Adam would communicate only by email, even though they lived under the same roof.
  • In spite of all the warning signs above, She often took her son shooting at a gun range.
  • She also legally purchased all the weapons her son carried the day of the massacre, and she had written a check to buy him a pistol for Christmas, a holiday that Adam himself did not believe in celebrating.

Nancy Lanza wasn’t allowed to enter his bedroom, it is unclear how much she knew about his obsession. This is clearly untrue, it seems to me that the only thing Adam was interested in was guns. So she took him shooting and was willing to pay for guns, because it was the only way she could reach him. She knew about his obsession with guns, and she fed it trying to reach him. He was a little punk kid, just how was he preventing her from going into his room?

They say that Adam refused to take his medication. Well, then his doctor’s and his mother should have made him take his meds or they should have committed him to a mental facility. They say that she was thinking of putting him in a hospital someplace and he did not want to go. Well, She should have just not told him and had him committed.

They say his mother, catered to his requests, cooking to his specifications and getting rid of a cat because he did not want it in the house. Hey you do not coddle or reward bad behavior.  If you don’t behave, you can make your own dinner.  Shape up or I am buying 100 cats.

Adam Lanza was a little pipsqueak who was certainly not threatening without a gun. His mother allowed him to walk all over her.

The Lanza’s lived in CT and then NJ both states with strong gun control. Nancy Lanza passed background checks to buy the guns that were used in the shooting, Background checks can’t be an issue in this case.   Given all that we know about the case, we must blame Nancy Lanza for not getting her son mental health services when he needed them. Instead, she bought him guns. If Nancy had lived, she should have been tried as an accessory for murder.  She let son, Adam, literally get away with the murder of all those little kids. The liberal press calls her a victim.  No she is the cause. You want to prevent this from happening again, fix the mental health system. There are no gun laws that will prevent another Adam Lanza, from shooting innocents again.  But changes in the mental health system, will save lives.
