GoodBye Florida

Image

I have been in Florida 3.5 weeks out of the last month. 4 Different cities working and or attending an aviation festival.

Today I get to go back home to New Hampshire. I have gone home for a few days during last month. But most of the time, I have been in Jacksonville, Orlando, Lakeland or Tampa.  Today is the last day I am a contractor.  I start a new full time job on Monday. Doing the same exact thing I do now. Except I am an employee for a different company.

People think It is great to work for yourself.  It’s not.  Here’s an example. June 2013 I was scheduled to work 22 days.  I get paid by the day.  June 1, a large customer cancels three weeks of work at the last minute for the company I contracted to.  I ended up working 6 days out of 22.  I actually turned down work that month because I thought I was fully booked.  There was no way to budget when you pay can vary from 3 days to 22 days in a month.  You just always have keep money in the bank in case, there are cancellations.

Also, I have had no sick days in 4 years.  Now I have been sick. Hell, I have been really sick for the last 2 weeks. I have not missed a day of work in 4 years. I couldn’t afford to.  Vacations happened at the last minute when work was canceled or around Christmas or July 4 week.

Next week I start a new job and the first week I am working out of my house. Which means I am being paid for doing nothing.  This is the first time in 4 years, that I have not been upset when I was not working. If I was not working, I was not getting paid. Next week will be a good week.

Getting Ready

Getting ready to fly

I know that most of my posts are complaining about something, So I am taking a break from complaining to talking about a great time we had recently during the Florida trip. During my recent trip to Florida, I visited WarBird Adventures in Kissimmee Florida. They are located at the  just 10 minutes from Disney World at Kissimmee Gateway Airport 233 N. Hoagland Blvd. Kissimmee, FL 34741, USA.  http://www.warbirdadventures.com.  The people here are very friendly and a nice group of people.

Texan

They normally have 2 of their fleet of Texans ready to fly. More in the busy season.

At WarBird Adventures you get to fly in the premier Flighter-Trainer of WWII, the North American T-6 Texan. You are teamed with a pilot/instructor who will let you fly the aircraft.  If you want fly straight  no problem. If you want to do “Gentleman’s Aerobatics, that’s fine too.  You do not have to be a pilot. But If you are a pilot, like my associate, you will control the airplane 90% of the time, and my friend did aerobatics in this plane. They can record your flight in video. They have 3 cameras in the plane. They sell the DVD for $60 for a 60 minute flight. They can also take still photos like the one underneath this line.

Worst Criminal of 2013 Award

Dupree-300x199

complete and total moron

And the award goes to : Depree Johnson, a convicted felon living in Lakeworth, Florida.

Johnson, 19, posted more than 100 selfie-photos of himself on Instagram – posing with cash, stolen guns and other stolen property.

In several of the pics, Johnson and his pals posed with handguns pointed at their own heads.

Evidently some astute detectives from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department suspected Johnson of several high-end burglaries and were watching his Instagram account.

When they searched his home last week, deputies recovered more than a quarter-million dollars worth of stolen jewelry, and of course several stolen firearms.

Johnson now faces 142 separate charges, including many felony weapons violations.

The best part of the tale: in booking, when asked his occupation, Johnson replied “thief.”

Another Reason to always carry a gun at : Walmart Reason 2

walmart

I oriignally wrote about a crazy man with a hatchet going after people in a Walmart. It looks like this is turning into a continuing series.

Deerfield Florida Walmart.
Investigators say bad blood over an employee of the month award at a South Florida WalMart store led to gunfire and criminal charges.

According to a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report last month’s employee of the month at a Deerfield Beach Wal-Mart store on South Military Trail had her car shot up by a co-worker who was angry after she won the award. Willie Mitchell is charged with discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office said surveillance video from a Wal-Mart parking lot shows Mitchell parking next to a co-worker’s earlier in December. A few minutes later, investigators said Mitchell rolls down a back window, fires a shot into his co-worker’s car then drives off. The co-worker was not in her vehicle at the time.

BSO Spokesperson Veda Coleman-Wright said the shooting stemmed from some bad feelings after the victim won an Employee of the Month Award.

She was announced as the employee of the month which you would think that would be something good, people would be happy for her,” Coleman-Wright said. “But there was one employee who wasn’t happy.” Investigators say after the award was announced Mitchell started arguing with the victim about their workload. The victim told detectives that “during the argument Mitchell told her repeatedly, ‘I’m gonna show you.

Hours later, BSO says Mitchell did just that. A witness told BSO that he spoke to Mitchell in his car while it was parked next to the victim’s. The witness said Mitchell “asked him if the victim was currently working to which the witness replied yes.

BSO says minutes later the shot was fired. The victim did not want to speak on camera but CBS4′s Carey Codd saw her car window, which has been fixed.

Investigators said they’re still stumped on the exact motive for the shooting.

“Perhaps (Mitchell) wanted to be employee of the month but clearly these actions that we saw in response to this, I think we see why he wasn’t chosen as employee of the month,” Coleman-Wright said.

A WalMart representative told CBS 4 News that Willie Mitchell no longer works for the company. The spokesperson also said that the employee of the month does not receive any money or gifts. She said it is strictly a recognition from the store.

Stand your Ground Law Changes in Florida Rejected

Breaking News

“Last evening the Florida House conducted a public hearing, judiciary committee debate, and committee vote on HB-4003, which would have done away with Florida’s Stand-Your-Ground law by repealing Florida statute 776.013. Home protection; use of deadly force; presumption of fear of death or great bodily harm.

The outcome was that HB-4003 was soundly defeated in committee, thereby ending the effort to repeal Stand-Your-Ground in this year’s legislative session.”

Good. Now I will admit that George Zimmeran is a loose cannon wackjob. Even if he instigated the fight with Trayvon Martin, he still had a right not to be beaten to death by Martin.  No matter how much the Liberal Press lies about it, the Travyon Martin case was not a case about Stand Your Ground. If it was, it would have been dismissed before trial.  The only reason it was not dismissed was the Zimmerman’s attorney decided to reject the Stand your Ground Defense in favor of a “Self Defense” defense.  Since Martin was on top of Zimmerman, beating him to death, it really was not a SYG issue.  Now the liberals jump up and talk about the Jury instructions. Those are the same jury instructions given to every murder case in Florida. They were not specific to the Martin/Zimmerman case.

We have have a right to self defense without running away. This is a human right.

Another Story

Screen Shot 2013-11-08 at 11.44.32 AM
There was another story in the news this week about a innocent bystander with a gun preventing a robbery in a Reading Pa store.. The “Good Guy with a Gun” walks into a store that is being robbed by two punk teenagers with a gun. The “Good Guy” is concealed carry a legal gun. He pulls the gun and end’s up shooting the two teen punks dead. This guy is a hero, right.

Now the dead teens parents and family and threading violence towards the “Good Guy” .  They claim he should not have got involved and should have called 911.  Too goddam bad for them.  If you want your teenagers to stay alive, maybe you should have taught them not to rob stores at gunpoint.  The “Good Guy” did the right thing.  The dead punks family should shut their mouths. And If they try to commit violence on the good guy, I hope he kills them as well.  I saw this phrase on the internet the other day. “Live Like a Punk.. Die like a Punk”
